Younique Reviews – How legit is the business?
Thank you for visiting one of my Younique Reviews on IBuyIReview!
Younique was founded by Melanie Huscroft and Derek Maxfield, a brother and sister duo, in 2012. Derek had had previous experience in an MLM company, as he had launched a company, Netseps, that was in the 500 list in 2012. Netseps had a reported revenue of $5.1 million in 2009.
It is a makeup company whose products are sold worldwide by their representatives. It may be hard to know whether the makeup sold under the Younique brand are genuine or it is just someone looking to make money off women, so I did this review to help you decide whether to join the company or to avoid them.
Younique Reviews – About the company
Younique is an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) company that uses network marketing to sell itself and its products. The company currently has over 283,000 independent representatives and distributors worldwide. In 2013 Younique grew so fast that its sales revenue for that year only was $2.06 million. Younique make extensive use of social media to market and sell their products. Instead of the traditional home parties used by other companies, Younique adopted the Younique Virtual Party where one can host a virtual party and broadcast it to millions of people via social media.
To join Younique, you pay $99 for the New Presenter Kit. Once you pay, you get a free personal website that has a simple e-commerce store for you to start selling the products immediately. You get access to Younique Virtual Party System to start you off and other tools to help you in your Younique journey. While waiting for your Younique kit, you will be trained in the Youniversity Training Academy where you get training courses on what to do when you start the business. In the white and yellow statuses, you are not required to recruit members. This is because you first need to know how to sell the Younique products before you can start recruiting new members.
At pink status, your PRS becomes lower than the yellow status PRS. This is because you are now needed to be an expert at recruiting new members. At Green status it increases again because you are assumed to be an expert and selling product and recruiting new members, hence you can now work on improving your company.
Younique Reviews – Final Verdict
Pros
- You get training in your first two weeks at Younique
- The joining cost is relatively low compared to other companies
- You earn rewards for hosting Younique Virtual Parties
Cons
- It is still a relatively new company in the cosmetics business, hence has less experience compared to its competitors
- You have to see at least $125 worth of Younique products for you to remain active and be eligible for commissions and royalties
Younique is not a scam; it is a legit cosmetics company. However, you need to be a good salesperson to be able to sell the minimum required amount monthly. Since it is an MLM, your royalties will also depend on the number of people you have recruited, and how active they are. This can be a problem to some.
