Oberlo 101 Review: Is it Legitimate or a Scam?
Oberlo 101 is an online course that teaches users about Oberlo, one of the most popular dropshipping platforms on the internet. Oberlo has been around for a few years and they have had time to perfect their system. Oberlo 101 is a comprehensive course that provides beginners with everything they need to know in order to get started with Oberlo.
In this review, I will go over what you can expect from Oberlo 101, as well as some pros and cons of using Oberlo for your dropshipping business.
Oberlo 101 Overview
One thing that Oberlo 101 promises is to teach new users how to find products they can sell online. Oberlo has a huge marketplace of over 1 million products, but it’s not always easy finding the right items for your store. This course teaches newbies exactly what they need to do in order to locate awesome products to sell.
Oberlo 101 also promises to teach new users how to set up their Oberlo account, choose products they want to sell and start selling online with ease. Oberlo 101 includes a section on Oberlo apps, with five different apps that you can use for your dropshipping business, which are very helpful tools to have at your disposal.
Oberlo 101 is an online video series with over 40 lectures in total. The videos vary from just 2 minutes long to around 15 minutes long. Oberlo 101 is available for purchase at $97, but you can also get it free with one of their Oberlo affiliate packages. These are a little bit more expensive than purchasing the course by itself, but they do come with other benefits.
When I watched Oberlo 101, I found that it was an excellent way to learn about Oberlo. I had never heard of this platform before, but now that I know what it is and how to use it, Oberlo is definitely a platform to consider. Oberlo 101 is also filled with affiliate links, which makes Oberlo a little bit biased in my opinion. However, there are no sales pitches or pressure to join Oberlo when you watch this course.
Who created Oberlo?
Oberlo was created by Ali Morshedi and his business partner, Ahmed. Oberlo’s parent company is Oberlo Verified Solutions Corp., which operates out of Bangkok in Thailand. The Oberlo website does not have much information about this company or the founders behind it though, so I had to do some searching to find out who was in charge of Oberlo.
How does dropshipping work?
Dropshipping is a business model where retailers do not keep products in stock. Instead, when an order comes through, the retailer will purchase it from their supplier and have it shipped directly to the customer who placed that order. Retailers can sell items for less than other vendors who carry them because they don’t need to maintain any inventory on their part. Oberlo’s parent company – Oberlo Verified Solutions Corp – was founded with this dropshipping concept and they have since created Oberlo to help people use Oberlo’s platform for their own dropshipping businesses.
Pros and cons of Oberlo for dropshipping beginners
Using Oberlo can help newbies find products to sell at a very low cost. Oberlo doesn’t charge any fees, which means that newbies can try their hand at dropshipping without spending lots of money up front on products they may not even be able to sell. Oberlo 101 is also an excellent course for beginners as it teaches them how to find and use Oberlo in order to start selling products. Oberlo is an excellent way for beginners to get started in the world of dropshipping, but Oberlo 101 has some cons that I think are worth mentioning.
Some people have reported seeing spammy affiliate links throughout Oberlo 101 , which could be annoying if you don’t want to sign up with any Oberlo affiliate programs. Affiliate programs are a way for Oberlo to make money, by sharing revenue with people who refer new users. Oberlo is very transparent about their affiliate program and how it works, though, so there’s nothing shady going on here.
Some students have also reported that Oberlo 101 can be confusing at times , which may frustrate beginners more than it would help them. Oberlo is a great platform for beginners, but Oberlo 101 doesn’t really do much to teach you how to use Oberlo or dropshipping in general. It’s designed more as an overview of Oberlo itself, rather than an introductory course on dropshipping and using Oberl
I also think that Oberlo could offer more information about how Oberlo works and what it can do. While there is some content on this topic within Oberlo 101, I did not find too much useful information here and Oberlo itself does not offer any detailed information on how Oberlo works. For example, Oberlo does not go into detail about what Oberlo Verified Solutions Corp is or who Ahmed and Alireza are – the founders of Oberlo – beyond a brief description that only tells you where they’re from (Thailand) and which industry they’ve been in before Oberlo.
Oberlo is also a fairly new company, meaning that they are still working out some bugs in their system and it might not be the most stable platform at times. The lack of customer service with Oberlo means you may have trouble getting your money back if something goes wrong or your dropshipping business fails to take off.
Oberlo claims to be the number one source for dropshipping products, but this is not entirely true. There are many other platforms that offer a much larger marketplace than Oberlo does and they also provide more features than Oberlo does. For example, Oberlo only has a marketplace of over 1 million products, whereas Oberlo’s rival – Shopify – has a marketplace with an excess of 500 million products.
Oberlo is not necessarily the most popular dropshipping platform, either. Oberlo may have been founded in 2013, but it ranks lower than many other platforms according to Alexa rankings, and Oberlo also lacks in the number of reviews that it has on Google. Oberlo only has 44,000+ ratings and most of these are positive, which is great, but Oberlo still lags behind many other dropshipping platforms when you consider their popularity and user base.
Is Oberlo 101 legitimate or a scam?
I bought Oberlo to see if it was legitimate or a scam, and I can say with certainty that Oberlo is not a scam at all. But it’s also definitely not the best course out there for learning how to dropship using Oberlo. There are plenty of great resources online that will teach you more about Oberlo and how to use it, but Oberlo 101 is not one of them. If you’re interested in Oberlo, I would recommend finding a different course that teaches more about this platform.
I buy and review courses so you don’t have to. Sometimes, I even find courses that are legitimate and worthwhile; and that’s how I accidentally came across one that led me to building a 6-figure business in a little under 5 years. Now, I still review courses because it’s my favorite hobby. 🙂 Learn more about me here.
