Remote Closing Academy Review and Overview (Updated for 2022)
If you’ve been on the hunt for the next big way to make serious money online and break free of the shackles of a 9 to 5, you’ve probably heard of Remote Closing Academy.
If you’ve visited their website before coming here for my Remote Closing Academy review, then you saw the nearly 30 video case studies from successful, thriving students.
Like many online courses and packages, they claim to set you up to live the life of your dreams… allowing you to jet-set around the world on a whim… close sales with ease and grace… and make as much money as you want… all within 6 to 8 weeks.
But I know just how common it is for programs like these to spend their budget marketing big claims, and as a result the course content is extremely lackluster. By the time you’re done reading my Remote Closing Academy review, you’ll know absolutely everything about it, the pricing, the founders, and my personal opinion on the program. Let’s get started!
What is Remote Closing Academy?
Remote Closing Academy is an online course that promises to show you how to make money by remote selling. The program was created by Cole Gordon, who is a well-known sales strategist and consultant.
According to their website, the academy will give you the skills and strategies you need to close deals and make money from anywhere in the world… even if you’ve never sold anything before in your life.
The entire program is delivered through a series of video lessons, which are then followed up with weekly group coaching calls. You also get access to a private Facebook group for students, as well as regular bonuses and discounts on other products.
So far so good, right?
For this review, I first read through their sales page in detail and did extensive research on Cole Gordon and remote selling in general. I’m going to take you through his backstory, an explanation of remote selling, and a few other details before I jump into my pros and cons.
How Much Does Remote Closing Academy Cost?
The cost of the Remote Closing Academy program is actually pretty hard to find on your own. From my research, it seems like this program does the thing where each potential student gets “custom pricing” via a phone call. What this usually means is you won’t find any pricing on the Remote Closing Academy website, and most reviews won’t cover it because it’s not a standard, publicly disclosed price.
Now, on the surface, custom pricing for each individual sounds great. The fact that they’re willing to meet you where you are is a great sign, right? Unfortunately, that’s rarely how this system works.
This pricing structure is, I’m sorry to say, most often used with courses that don’t actually provide a lot of value. I found one forum thread where a user said they were quoted $8,400 for the program… which is eyebrow-raising, to say the least.
Who is Cole Gordon?
Cole Gordon is the man behind Remote Closing Academy, and he’s a pretty interesting guy.
From what I can gather, Cole Gordon is originally from Australia. He got his start in sales working for a company called Elite Sales Group, which is a global sales training and consulting firm. He eventually became their Head of Sales before moving on to launch his own remote selling course.
Cole Gordon has also been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Yahoo Finance for his work in sales. He's considered an expert in the field, and he's spoken at numerous conferences and events around the world.
Is Cole Gordon Legit?
Cole Gordon is a legitimate entrepreneur and digital marketer. He’s newer to the space, having only been involved with remote selling and digital marketing for the past 5 years.
His story is that he was broke, working as a bartender, and feeling really miserable about his life. He wanted to make real money online– 6 figures, ideally– and was committed to finding a way to do it.
Then he found out about remote selling, and felt that it checked every box that was important to him. He very quickly had his first $10,000 month and never looked back.

As of January 2022, Cole Gordon’s net worth is about $1 million. This amount has been on the rise every year for roughly the past decade– as he grows his online presence and audience, there’s nowhere to go but up.
So far, everything looks good… but what about remote closing and selling? Can you actually make money with this method? Let’s find out.
What is Remote Closing?
Remote selling and closing is the process of selling products and services remotely, without ever meeting your customer face-to-face.
This can be done through a number of different channels, including social media, email marketing, webinars, and more.
The goal of remote closing is to build relationships with potential customers and close deals without ever having to meet them in person.
Remote closing and selling has a few distinct advantages…
You can reach a global audience with very little overhead costs. All you need is an internet connection and you can sell to anyone in the world.
You have complete control over your schedule. You can work whenever you want, from wherever you want.
It’s a great way to make money passively. Once you’ve built up a system, you can continue to make sales even while you’re sleeping.
So how do you become a remote closer?
How to Become a Remote Closer
The first step to becoming a remote closer is to find a niche that you’re passionate about. This could be anything from real estate to fitness to beauty.
Once you’ve found your niche, it’s time to start building an audience. You can do this through social media, blogging, email marketing, and more. The goal is to attract potential customers and build relationships with them.
Once you’ve built up an audience, it’s time to start selling! There are a number of different ways to do this, but some of the most common include webinars, digital products, and services.
Now, that’s just my extremely basic breakdown of the usual path remote closers follow to get into this industry. But remember this is my Remote Closing Academy review, so let’s talk about the process you’d go through as a student.
The Remote Closing Academy process can be boiled down into 3 basic legs or modules. There is a bit of overlap with the “standard” method of entry and RCA, which you’ll see shortly…
First, you pick the right niche and offer (sound familiar?) that’s best positioned. This will be a mix of factors, like what the market is currently doing, what you’re comfortable with, and the price point.
The second step is to think of your potential customers as enrollees, not buyers. You have to sell to a buyer and put on the whole song and dance. But enrollees are people who are already interested, already in the pipeline, and looking to buy. You’ll be taught how to confirm their dreams, answer their questions, and present your product as the best solution.
Finally, find a mentor to latch onto. In Remote Closing Academy, Cole Gordon works to convince you to pick him as your mentor. He’ll talk about how, if you spend just a little more money for the next tier of his programs, then you’ll really unlock the potential to make money.
It’s extremely common for online courses like this to funnel you towards a more expensive class option, so keep in mind that you’ll deal with it in most any program.
Should You Be a Remote Closer?
Remote closing is a great way to make money online-- but it's not for everyone. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you decide if remote selling is right for you.
You need to be comfortable with technology. If you're not tech-savvy, remote selling is probably not the best fit for you.
You need to be self-motivated and disciplined. There's no one there to hold your hand and make sure you're doing your work... so you need to be able to stay on track and get things done on your own.
You need to be a people person. This one is pretty self-explanatory-- remote selling is all about building relationships with potential customers. If you're not a people person, it's going to be tough to succeed in this industry.
You need to be comfortable on the phone. Most of this program is based on the idea of phone sales and telemarketing. I know how that sounds, and frankly, I get it. Phone sales are not for everyone... which is exactly why I'm calling it out as a must-have skill.
What I Like About Remote Closing Academy
Okay, I know you’ve been waiting for this part of my Remote Closing Academy review– the pros and cons! Let’s do it.
First, I love that they focus on helping you find the right niche and offer. It’s so important to have a solid foundation before you start trying to sell anything, and RCA does a great job of breaking down the process into simple, actionable steps.
Second, I appreciate that they talk about enrollees instead of buyers. It’s such an important distinction to make, and it really changes the mindset you need to have going into a sale.
Finally, I think Cole Gordon is a great teacher. He’s very engaging and he has a lot of experience in the industry. I think he does a great job of breaking down complex concepts and making them easy to understand. Because of his background as a bartender, he understands how to talk to people and really connect with them in a meaningful way.
Frankly, it’s no wonder that this method of earning a living works so well for him. It’s like all of his bartender skills are directly applicable to remote closing. You may have the same experience, depending on your own work history.
What I Dislike About Remote Closing Academy
There are also a few things I don’t love about RCA…
First, I think they put too much emphasis on finding a mentor. Yes, it’s important to have someone you can look up to in this industry… but I don’t think it’s necessary to spend thousands of dollars on mentorship programs. There are plenty of free resources out there that can help you just as much.
Second, I think they’re a little too pushy when it comes to selling their more expensive courses. I get that they’re a business and they need to make money… but I think there’s a way to do it without being so in-your-face about it.
These two problems are, unfortunately, by design. The most common setup I see for online courses that claim to teach you how to make 6 figures a year is the tiered setup, just like this.
Basically, they get you with their cheapest offer first– in this case, Remote Closing Academy. Once you’ve gotten into that, they’ll explain how much better you could do if you just paid to have Cole Gordon as a mentor and paid for their more expensive courses. And if you do that, they’ll turn around and tell you that you now need the next most expensive course until you’ve bought it all.
In short, there is actual content in this course and courses like it… but there’s sales pitches galore, too.
Personally, I think the program is very overpriced. Yes, you get a lot of content… but I certainly don’t think it’s worth $8,400. I think you could find most of this information for free online, if you were willing to do a little digging. Worst case scenario, a book or two from Amazon would get you the same information for less than a tenth of the price of RCA.
Can You Make Money With Remote Closing Academy?
Technically, yes, you can make money with Remote Closing Academy– so long as you focus on making high ticket sales specifically. It’s going to take a long while to pay back the $8,400 investment, your start-up costs, and finally start turning a profit. If you have bills to pay, say, next month… well, this won’t help you.
I also can not put enough emphasis on the fact that sales aren’t for everyone, let alone high ticket sales. It’s a lot of pressure to put on yourself, and it’s easy for your emotional state to suffer– which is about the worst thing that can happen when you’re trying to make sales.
Is Remote Closing Academy A Scam?
No, Remote Closing Academy is not technically a scam. There is content in the course, and Cole Gordon is a real person with experience in the industry.
However, I do think it’s a bit of a scam in the sense that it’s overpriced and doesn’t deliver on its promises as well as it could. If you’re looking for a remote closing course, there are other options out there that will give you more bang for your buck.
The Bottom Line – Remote Closing Academy Review
I would not recommend Remote Closing Academy. It’s overpriced, the sales pitches are too pushy, and I don’t think it offers enough value to justify the cost.
There are other remote closing courses out there that will give you more bang for your buck.
