(LEGIT?) EYL University – Earn Your Leisure
EYL (Earn Your Leisure) University Overview
Are you one of millions looking to break free from the shackles of financial illiteracy? If so, you’ve probably run across EYL University (Earn Your Lesiure). This program claims to cover everything about finance you should’ve been taught in school, but weren’t.
Not only that– the founders say their vision is to elevate and empower communities to take control of their lives and their freedom. Apparently, all of this can be accomplished with webinars, Facebook groups, and a few other resources included in the program.
But is EYL University the real deal? And if so, is it even right for you? I’ll take you through the founders, overview, pricing, and my personal thoughts. By the time you’re done reading, you should know exactly the best way to move forward. Let’s get started.
When Did Earn Your Leisure Start?
Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings started Earn Your Leisure in 2019. They were teaching financial classes to public schools in the Bronx, NY when they realized they could do more. Today, the The company is based in New York, New York.
Who runs Earn Your Leisure?
Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings are the co-founders of EYL University. They’re both entrepreneurs with a focus on real estate investing, but they have different backgrounds. Rashad made a career playing basketball while Troy has been a physical education teacher for most of his career.
Interestingly enough, they also have different approaches to money. Rashad is more of a risk taker while Troy leans more towards saving. However, both men are united by their mission to help people become financially free.
They created EYL University because they were unhappy with the way financial education is taught (or not taught) in America. According to them, most people are never taught how to handle money. As a result, they end up in debt, struggling to make ends meet.
Rashad and Troy want to change that by teaching people everything they need to know about money. That way, they can take control of their lives and achieve financial freedom.
Who Are Rashad Bilal And Troy Millings?
Rashad Bilal is an athlete and financial entrepreneur who has built a successful real estate investing business. He’s also the co-founder of EYL University, where he teaches others how to build wealth and achieve financial freedom.
Troy Millings is an educator and entrepreneur with a focus on real estate investing. He’s the co-founder of EYL University, where he helps people learn about money and how to take control of their financial future.
What is EYL University?
EYL University is an online educational platform that teaches people everything they need to know about money. The course covers a wide range of topics, including budgeting, investing, credit, and more.
The goal of the course is to help people take control of their lives and achieve financial freedom. EYL University a few free resources, but most require membership. The free resources include a blog, YouTube channel, and Facebook group.
Paid resources include the Home Buyer’s Blueprint, online personal finance course, real estate investing course, and private coaching. EYL University also has a community of like-minded individuals who support each other on their journey to financial freedom.
EYL University Pricing and Inclusions
The Home Buyer’s Blueprint, personal finance course, real estate investing course, and private coaching are all available only to paying members. With this program, you can’t piecemeal the specific aspects you want– and there are no higher tiers, unlike many similar courses.
At the time of writing, EYL University membership costs $199 monthly or $699 for a year. When you stop paying, you lose access to all of the teachings excluding a few downloadables. The yearly price point comes out to $58 per month, so there’s a significant difference if you choose monthly or yearly.
It’s worth noting that the EYL website says this pricing is a “birthday special” and the MSRP is $1,998. I couldn’t find any reviews from people who paid the “sticker price,” so I’m not sure that the birthday special is really limited-time.
Included in the membership are the following resources:
– Access to the online personal finance course
– Access to the real estate investing course
– Home Buyer’s Blueprint
– Private coaching from Rashad and Troy
– Community support from like-minded individuals
EYL University
EYL University refers to both of the courses, the private coaching, the community support, plus occasional webinars led by finance professors. Their website also advertises that the EYL Trade School is coming soon, but no word on how it’ll be different from the University… nor if it’ll be included in the University pricing.
The website has a long list of what’s included, but it really boils down to the same 3 things: webinar/video courses, private coaching calls, and group chats / group communities for other students to converse.
Home Buyer’s Blueprint
The Home Buyer’s Blueprint from EYL University is an online course that covers everything you need to know about buying a home. The course is delivered through a combination of videos, PDFs, and quizzes.
It claims to teach you absolutely everything you need to know about buying your first home– including the less glamorous stuff, like finding a good loan officer. Right now, it’s for sale as a stand-alone from the creator for $350. I do have to say that getting it plus an EYL membership is a pretty good savings.
Is Real Estate for Everyone?
Yes, real estate is definitely for everyone… to a certain degree. We’ve talked a bit about how much real estate is covered in this membership. From the investment course to the blueprint for buying your first home, “real estate” covers a lot of topics.
So when I say yes, I mean that everyone is capable– and worthy– of owning a home if they so choose. Don’t think for a second that you can’t achieve this if it’s something you want. That’s exactly why the founders created this program, supposedly– to give people like you financial knowledge, control, and freedom.
When it comes to investing, despite what EYL University says, I don’t think it’s for everyone. Certain personality types won’t find joy or success in it– not because they aren’t capable, but because it’s not what they actually want to do. If you aren’t interested in real estate investment, there are plenty of other ways to make a lucrative living.
That said, I want to cover a few more things to help you determine if this is a good opportunity for you.
Who is EYL University For?
The target audience for EYL University is anyone who wants to learn about money and take control of their financial future. The course is especially helpful for those who are struggling with debt or trying to save for a major purchase like a home.
While the course is designed for people of all ages, it may be especially helpful for young adults who are just starting out in their careers. This is because the course covers topics that are usually not taught in school, such as credit scores and investing.
EYL University Pros And Cons
There are a few things I really like about EYL University and a few things that I don’t. In this section, I’ll go over what I liked and didn’t like about the program so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not it’s right for you.
What I Like in EYL University
Focus on the Black community. From disparities in Black healthcare to disadvantages the Black community faces throughout their education, the deck is stacked against this population. It’s really incredible to see a Black educator team up with a Black athlete to offer financial education across the country.
Home Buyer’s Blueprint. This is actually pretty cool. When I bought my first house, every day I felt more and more lost. I spent hours daily learning about what I needed, and yet every day I felt like I knew less than when I woke up. The Home Buyer’s Blueprint is a must-have resource, and you get it for so cheap through EYL.
Private coaching from Rashad and Troy. Many programs and courses like this have outsourced their coaching. I like that these guys still do it themselves.
Legitimately friendly community support from like-minded individuals. This is pretty standard for online programs these days, but it seems like EYL is trying to step it up. They have a Facebook group, a group chat, and a weekly Zoom call.
Overall, I liked that EYL University offers a lot of resources for a variety of financial topics, including courses on personal finance and real estate investing. The idea and the message behind this program are something that I 100% stand behind– and I completely believe in the founders’ mission to empower Black communities with financial knowledge.
What I Dislike in EYL University
More focused on the branding. The sales page for EYL University is promising, but the content itself is a bit fluffy considering it’s all webinar-based. As far as I could tell, there’s no real curriculum either– just hundreds of past webinars. There’s a bit of guidance regarding what order to watch, but overall it’s a bit nebulous.
Expensive business model. It seems a bit odd to include real estate investing with a basic financial education course. People who have money to invest in real estate don’t need a financial education course, and vice versa. I wonder if these programs would be stronger if they were separated into 2 distinct offerings.
Lack of testimonials. Despite being in business for 3 years now, I can not find anyone talking about this program. I found a few interviews with the founders and, again, they talk a good talk… I just can’t find any evidence that they walk the walk, or at least teach others to do so.
Is EYL University a Scam?
No, I don't think EYL University is a scam. I think it's a legitimate opportunity for those who want to learn about personal finance and real estate investing. However, I do think that the branding is more focused on selling the lifestyle than on providing quality content. Additionally, the real estate investment business model is a bit cost-prohibitive and there are not enough student testimonials.
If you're interested in trying the courses, I suggest finding a way to get them at a discounted price. You can sometimes find coupons or promo codes online that will help you save money on the purchase.
The last thing I want to point out is there doesn't seem to be any kind of money-back guarantee, and that worries me. Buried in their terms and conditions, you'll find a section stating you forfeit your rights to a refund by purchasing a digital product... and this is definitely a digital product.
EYL University: Bottom Line
EYL University is a personal finance and real estate investing course created by Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings. The course covers topics such as credit scores, investing, and saving for a down payment on a home. It’s supposedly designed for people of all ages, but may be especially helpful for young adults who are just starting out in their careers.
There are a few things I really like about EYL University, including the fact that the founders are committed to helping Black communities, the included private coaching from the founders, and several channels for community support.
However, I do think the branding is more focused on selling the lifestyle than on providing quality content, and the real estate investment business model is a bit cost-prohibitive. Additionally, there are not enough student testimonials to make anyone feel confident before they buy.
Overall, I think EYL University is a legitimate opportunity for those who want to learn about personal finance and real estate investing, but I suggest finding a way to get your membership for a discount if possible due to the lack of a refund option.

I buy and review courses so you don’t have to. Sometimes, I even find courses that are legitimate and worthwhile; and that’s how I accidentally came across one that led me to building a 6-figure business in a little under 5 years. Now, I still review courses because it’s my favorite hobby. 🙂 Learn more about me here.
I purchased the annual membership for EYL back on January 12,2021 for $250. And I was recently automatically charged and renewed without notice and there is NO helpful information on how to cancel the subscription
Same I am trying to cancel now and can’t.
